馃敶 COVID-19 Update 2 (20 March 2020) 馃敶

We hope the following information will be helpful for members and friends of Immanuel. (We鈥檙e aware that not everyone has internet access, so we intend to make hardcopies which we鈥檒l distribute in person or by post.)

馃數 Staying Informed

...

We don鈥檛 yet know when services of worship will resume, but the best place to stay informed is by checking the church website and facebook page where notices will be displayed.

If you know any members who do not have internet access, please keep them informed as much as possible.

馃數 Worship

Everyone should continue to worship the Lord each day and especially on the Lord鈥檚 Day. We were made to glorify God and, while we may not be able to glorify him in public worship, we can still worship the Lord at home.

Colin will endeavour to put a weekly recording on the church website and facebook page to help you worship at home on Sundays. If possible, he will post other recordings during the week.

Other resources, including sermons, are available online. Colin recommends the website monergism.com. On that site you鈥檒l find lots of sermons by faithful preachers.

馃數 Help

If you need pastoral care or practical help, please contact Colin or your elder.

Likewise, if you鈥檙e aware of another member who needs either pastoral care or practical help, please let Colin or an elder know.

馃數 Prayer

Before our meetings were cancelled, we met on Wednesdays at 7.45pm for Bible study and prayer. Let me encourage you to set aside time on Wednesday evenings to pray for one another and for the world. Instead of meeting in the Dunlop Hall, please pray at home.

馃數 Keep in Contact

Please try to keep in contact with one another. While we all need to be wise about exposing one another to infection, there are many other ways to keep in touch with one another these days.

Above all, continue to trust in the Lord because our help always come from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.

It will be strange not meeting together on a Sunday for worship together.

However as an encouragement to us all we are asking a favour ...... 馃摳

As you worship in your own home on Sunday why not take a photo and post it into the comments under this post. It will encourage us all as we worship separately but together.

...

It鈥檚 not a competition or a funny selfie and only positive comments 馃槀

If you鈥檙e not sure how to post a photo please email it to

immanuelpresbyterianchurch@outlook.com

and we will post it for you.
Encourage those not on Facebook to send a photo to you and can can post it for them.

COVID-19 UPDATE:

Every congregation in the PCI has been advised by the Moderator and Clerk of the General Assembly that all congregational organisations and activities should cease until further notice. In addition, all Sunday gatherings for worship should also cease until further notice.

In light of this advice, Sunday services of worship in Immanuel will not be held for the time being.

...

(The decision to cancel all other activities had already been made by the Kirk Session and announced on Sunday, 15 March 2020.)

We will endeavour to put up on the church's website and facebook page a weekly recording to help members worship at home.

In the meantime, please continue to care for one another and to pray for each other, asking the Lord to keep us safe and well and faithful.

Last Sunday morning, we sang from Psalm 91:

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say to the LORD, 'My refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.'

Because the Most High and Almighty God is our Lord and refuge and fortress, we can trust him for mercy and help.
