Youth Fellowship Report 2016
This year at YF we said goodbye to Dave. He has been attending YF as a member and a leader for over 20 years. He will be missed by all in the YF but especially by Sarah and myself. We have loved working alongside him and fellowshipping with him. We thank Dave for his many years of service to the YF and wish him and his family every blessing in the future.
With the arrival of Jack, Sarah has had to take a back seat in relation to the Sunday night programme. However God has provided us with a number of willing volunteers to help run the YF. From taking cell groups to making tea, their help and support has been invaluable. Thanks goes to Phil Stewart, Matt Robinson, John Martin and Berny Tuccillo.
The YF meet each Sunday night after church at 8:30pm. We have four main evenings as part of our programme.
CELL – CELL is an opportunity for the young people to meet together in their age groups and discuss problems and issues they may have as they try and live for Jesus in their schools, universities and workplaces.
KNEEL – The focus of kneel is worship and prayer. It is a chance for the young people to take some time to worship God and pray together for each other, missions and other more global issues.
AWAKEN – This year we have been very blessed as a YF to have Berny Tuccillo take a bible study for us once a month. We have been studying the life of Joseph together and have enjoyed the questions we have been able to discuss as a group.
ALTERNATIVE– This is a night in which we do something slightly different in YF. It usually involves our bible knowledge and thinking about things we should know as Christians.
We enjoyed our last weekend away at Easter 2016. We again travelled to Castlewellan to stay for four nights in the castle. During the weekend Berny came and spoke to us from Gods word. The rest of the weekend was taken up by worship, prayer, teaching, games, quizzes, outings and much more.
As we look to the future we give thanks to God for what he has done for us all in the past and what he is going to do in the future. We ask that the congregation will pray for each young person as they develop their faith and grow in God’s grace. Pray that the young people will put God at the very centre of their lives.
